D.I.Y. *Wall Hanging*

As many of you will know I absolutely love interior decorating with that comes a lot of ideas and often times a lot of Do It Yourself projects. So today I thought it would be fitting for me to do a step by step of how to make a MACRAME! There are lots of different ones that you can make but here is the one that I am going to show you how to make.

Seriously it is much easier than you think so don’t let the idea of this scare you off. I have put the list of supplies you will need below:

  • Yarn (I use 3 different colours but you can use as many of as little as you like). –  The kind I used in this post can be found here.
  • A round hoop – Similar one can be found here.
  • Scissors
  • Ruler – optional

What you are going to want to do first is to figure out how long you want your yarn to be. What I usually do is eye it & then cut one “master” piece & I use that to cut the rest of them.

I cut 10 pieces of grey & 8 of white. I then but them like:

After this step is complete you will get your hoop & begin to assemble it. I started off taking 2 pieces of the grey & then making a knot *shown below*. I then proceeded with 2 pieces of white with the same type of knot.

Continue this step until all of your yarn is used up. If you have a bigger hoop you may be able to add more if you have a smaller hoop you may only be able to get a little bit. Next you will want to hang it up somewhere to see if you want to cut the ends. This step is optional as some people like the look that it gives. If you want to cut it you can make a variety of angled designs.

I choose to do an upward angle design as seen below.

See how easy that was! Plus now you have a beautiful wall hanging to hang on your wall! I would love to see your finished product so comment down below with pictures or tag me @estherbschmidt in your Instagram posts!
